Meg: I am very concerned that your vet has let this go on and on,
without trying to get to the bottom of it; and I am quite concerned
that now Hazel is "wobbly"; which suggests a neurologic problem, which
could be caused by anything from a pinched nerve (pain might make her
feel less like eating), to cancer, to a damaged liver or kidneys - all
of which are serious, of course. If you don't get a MUCH more
concerned reaction from your vet this time, then I would urge you to
get a reccomendation from your vet to a veterinary internist
specialist. GP vets are of necessity limited in their specialized
knowledge. I really think it's time for Hazel to be seen by a
specialist in internal problems, who has a much better chance of
figuring out exactly what is wrong with her. If your vet can't/won't
recomend anyone to you, please get online and find the Veterinary
Teaching Hospital or Vet School nearest to you and get an appt. with
them. You need to get to the bottom of this now, because it sounds
like Hazel is getting worse, not better, with time.
