When we brought Pepper the Huskie (ATB) home 14 years ago, she needed lots of medical attention, including spaying. when we brought her home from the vet, she looked so uncompofrtable that I picked her up and put her on the foot of the bed. She didn't spend another night on the floor until a year or so ago, when she getting up on the bed got to be too hard.

Alfie the sorta beagle came to us 7 years ago, and was crate trained from the rescue. After a few days of looking jealous, he was on the bed too. Now when it's chilly he sleeps under the covers at the foot of the bed. He's a great footwarmer, but I would think the lac k of oxygen would bother him. He is a beagle, though, so theirs no point in worrying about brain damage.

We got Ginger the basset back in March. She spent part of one night in a crate, then ended up on my son's bed. She doesn't care who's bed she sleeps on, as long as at least one of her people is in it with her.
