I'm so sorry to hear about Rhett. Having been there so recently, I truly feel your pain and sadness. 

Waldo was a very good boy in life - serious and sober, never misbehaving or playing. I'm hoping that at the Bridge he's learning to loosen up. I'm betting between Rhett and Noah, he's being corrupted but good!

This afternoon, our precious Rhett began his 
journey To The Bridge.  It's difficult to write about Rhett through my 
tears but I have to pay tribute to this special hound.  Rhett has been 
receiving the best of care from a team of veterinarians and veterinary 
specialists but the time had come to put Rhett's quality of life 
first.

Rhett joined our family through pure chance in 2002.  We were 
on our way to Florida Basset Rescue to adopt a female and agreed to transport 
Rhett who was coming into rescue.  Rhett laid in the back seat of my car 
and cuddled next to our Beauregard (ATB) for the trip.  We were about 
halfway there and, Bob and I both commented that Beau and Rhett were a natural 
pair.  Needless to say, Rhett came back home with us and became a member of 
our family.

I'm sure Rhett will be met At The Bridge by Beauregard, our 
Magnolia and Tammy, and of course, Noah Go Slowah and the other OEBE's, BABES 
and Basset friends already there.  Rhett has been a colorful character in 
our cyber-adventures as Rhett, Esquire, of the law firm dedicated to justice and 
equality for Bassets everywhere.
