I second what Bev Momperson said.  Martingale collars are the best.
They are the only collars OMBR uses; we give them to all our foster
dogs; they don't wear any other collar if we can help it.  BHRG does
the same thing.  And in FACT; you can buy martingale collars direct
from http://bhrg.org/merchandise_dog.htm  for only $10 each - cheaper
than pet stores, and helps rescue, too!.  (And you can get matching
leashes, as well!)
