Last night it was dark and cold, and I was trying desperately to get home.  Morse had other ideas.  The cold air had got right up the tailpipe and he was off, and within seconds dived into a hedge, appearing (backwards, as I had gotten hold of his tail) with something golf-ball sized in the side of his mouth.  He tried to act all nonchalant, as if he had forgotten it was there, but I made a grab for him and the offending lump.  A huge fat ball emerged (all gooey and fatty all over my woolly gloves *sigh*) and we had a slight disagreement over the fact that I then threw it over the hedge out of his reach.  Nigel & Llewis, we are laughing and laughing at the momperson's howliday card horror.  Bev, pour yourself a large glass of something - all will come good!  Angela Bassett, we are laughing at your refusal to come in even when you are clearly freezing outside - how basset is that attitude!  And lastly, I have to ask - what makes a basset
stubborn?  I mean, I know they are stubborn, but why?  Why are they stubborn as opposed to other dogs?  I think its what makes them even more special, but I am curious to know the reason for the stubborn behaviour.  WHY?
