[Dailydrool] Pet insurance question

Some time ago, when I mentioned Jane's sock fetish, someone mentioned that getting emergency vet insurance might be a good idea. Since Jane ate some metal objects and may be facing surgery, I decided that in the future it might be a good idea, since paying for multiple surgeries is so very pricey.

Well, I just went online and discovered that VPI will not cover a dog that is ten years old or older. Jane's about to turn eleven. Does anyone know of a vet insurance that will cover older dogs?

So what, when you get old, you should just die? What is insurance for, if not to allow you to live to a ripe old age? I guess VPI thinks ten is old enough for a basset. We can all be sure they don't own one. Probably, they have one of those little yappers that will make you crazy in a minute! (No intention to offend anyone there, but I am REALLY mad at this.)
