Hyah ebbryone. Dis is Lacey (NORman's youger sister) pawin at Momma's 'puter tingy. Phew dis are hard werk! Ennyways, I needs a widdle bit ob dwool fur my sore eye. U see, I gots sumfin in my eyeball and my Momma took me to da see da vetlady yesserday. I wike her awot. I wike her so much dat her ask me to stop lickin her face so she could look in my eye. She gibbed me sumfin dat made da hurt go away and so I was just thankin her for dat. I likes to licky licky licky nice peeples. I will let Momma tell you da rest ob da story......

Lacey came in night before last with the tissue around her eyeball all red and swollen to the point I couldn't see her eyeball at all. Freaked me out! I gave her a benadryl caplet and flushed her eye with sterile eye solution. Within an hour the swelling went down and she stopped rubbing it. The tissue was very red around as was her eyeball. I put some antibiotic eye ointment in it after looking to see if there if I could see if anything was in her eye. Next morning she seemed a lot better. By yesterday morning the swelling began to return so I called my vet and they said to be there at 3 pm and they would work her in. The vet numbed her eye so they could check for any "foreign object" that might be in there. Found nothing but she felt that their may have been something that had been under her upper eyelid as there was a blue mark (bruiing) there. It may have been washed out when I flushed her eye. We came home with more eye ointment and pain meds plus antibiotics and if it is not dramatically better in three days, I need to take her back in for further examination.

I am doing my best not to totally freak out. Eye injuries really upset me after having apuppy who tore the cornea in his eye once. On a good note, we had an eye exam done on our last show trip withhad excellent results so I don't think there's a problem that way. Her eye is better today but still quite red. She wants to go and romp with her playmates and I won't let her. You cannot believe the mooaning, whing and noises she makes trying to get me to let her go. She is such a diva princess.
So if anyone has a little eye healing drool they can spare, we will reciprocate with drool to help whenever needed.

Thanks, Jacqie and "Lacey" ("Don't worry Momma, my eye will be all better by the time we go to the dogs show next Thursday.")
