One Raw whole carrot is about 30 calories.

Figure the mini's which many have as "snacks" and are already pealed..
should be about 1/3rd or 1/4th that

or you figure per cup about 50 to 70 calories.. still not that high.. they's
crunchy, they's healthy, thems hounds be happy..

you could possibly cut back some kibble, and substitute green beans and or
carrots....if feeding 1 1/2 cups twice a day, try 1 cup twice a day,
substitute about a 1/3rd or 1/2 a can of green beans at each meal..

and if doing green beans, its best to get the Low Sodium variety.... they
have 10 to 15 mg's sodium per serving (2 to 2.5 servings per can means 20 to
30 mg salt total) compared to regular canned green beans at 310 mgs ...
again. **per** serving.. so one can would be 620 to 775mg per can!!

Subject: [Dailydrool] carrots
My playmate, Sophie, was told by her vet that she is
getting fat because she eats carrots which have a lot
of calories. Could this be true?
