[Dailydrool] walking the dogs

I have been reading with interest all the responses that basically tell Val to tell her neighbors to "stick it".

All well and good.  But based on some stuff Val DID NOT say there are probably more issues going on here.   I don't know the type of neighborhood Val lives in but before moving to the country I lived in the inner city, the suburbs, and the not so inner-city.
In some neighborhoods ignoring the neighbors can have them let their dogs loose as your walking by.  You could end up with poison thrown in your yard.
Rude, nasty neighbors can be extremely hard to deal with.

Calling Animal Control on the neighbors , in my opinion, is just asking for more trouble.

I still would try talking to the offended neighbor first.  

Maybe even invite all dog owning neighbors over for cake and coffee and allow everyone to air their opinions.  Form your own little neighborhood organization.

  I would also carry mace with me and a cell phone when I walk the dogs.
