Val, my heart goes out to you.  Hard as it may be, try and ignore them and just do your own thing, but of course look out for yourself too, and yes, if you are going to feel happier, change your route.   Like Robert said, maybe take your phone.  Let the police know too - its harrassment, nothing short of it.  Sometimes, or quite often, actually, I do feel the world would be a better place without certain people.  *sigh*
