[Dailydrool] Could use some drool...

Well, this is a new one for us... Late last week, I thought I saw a worm (or
some weird looking white thing) on Checkers, dad's bagle.Well, everything
looked okay during the weekend, then apparently tonight dad saw something
white in his poo, and took it to the vet. Long and short of it is the poor
buppy has a tape worm!! According to the vet, it's not transmittable to
dogs, humans, anything, and it came from fleas. He was flea free since we've
had him, and from his records, it looks like since he entered rescue last
fall. We aren't sure how long the nasty critter has been living in there,
but even his foster mom said that he ate like a pig, and never gained
weight, so maybe the nasty bug has something to do with it?

So, if anyone has some drool they can spare, Checkers could use a little.
He's going to the vet tomorrow (or friday, I forget which mom said), and the
vet said that the treatment shouldn't be bad for him, but we're worried for
our little guy! This is something totally new for us, none of us here have
ever encountered. Anyone out there have any experience with this? From the
way the vet made it sound, it's entirely possible that this could have been
something prior to his coming into rescue, and that it just hasn't surfaced
until now, but again, we all know very little about this...
