[Dailydrool] vaccine for Gum plaque

Has anyone given this to their houndie.  It has been recommended to us but I am concerned about the longterm consequences since it obviously is a toxin of sorts.  I tend to be very conservative in giving our bassets (and ourselves) anything that has not been around enough years to establish longitudinal studies on safety.  This vaccine has only been out for a few years.
