And, according to a yiddish glossary........

Schmuck is a yiddish word MEANING essentially a real bastard - mean, nasty, venal.  It is a very un-nice swear word.  The LITERAL definition is male genitalia.  Connotation is everything.  Much like the word bitch literally means female dog.

Schmuck - an insulting term for a stupid person or dimwitted fool or an unwanted guest

Schmuck as a surname is of German origin, meaning jewel or jewelry

When used in Britain it only means rubbish
