[Dailydrool] Can anyone help with this problem?

In about 6 weeks I will be moving in with my fiancee....my two Bassets love their new "Dad" and he loves them.   They are used to sleeping with me at night and Luke (the oldest at 7 and a rescue) has no problem sleeping outside our room at night without making a sound...but it is Chewy (age 5) who will bark every minute or so for God only knows how long.
Sleeping with them is impossible because my fiancee has a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep anyway let alone sleeping with them. I either put them down in the basement, in which case it is only a matter of hours before Chewy gets up and starts barking again or I get up and sleep in a separate bedroom so the barking won't disturb him and it shuts Chewy up...needless to say no one is pleased with this arrangement except Chewy.
Can anyone give me a solution to this?

Thanks...sleepless in West Dundee
(aka Peg and the TSRHs, Chewy and Luke)
