>From what you described it definitely sounds like a sebaceous cyst.  Our Belle, who turned 13 yesterday, has had many, many of these over the years.  They can be very messy when they open & drain and sometimes you have a good size opening, Belle's have been as big as the eraser on the end of a pencil.  I would suggest contacting your vet tomorrow to check if they want to put Copper on an antibiotic as a precaution because of his age.  Our vet usually does.  The opening probably has closed already, but don't be surprised if he doesn't get another cyst in the same area.  Our kids always do stuff to us on weekends!  Actually the very 1st sebaceous cyst that opened on Belle was on a New Years Eve, we contacted our emergency vet hospital and they explained what it was and to contact out vet after the holiday.
