Emily,

Have you considered getting her one of our fleece coats to wear as pyjamas?
We have an assortment of sizes, and I can vouch that they keep the dogs
toastie at night. We used them when we went camping over the summer, but
the nights were really chilly. One of my friends hounds is particularly
thin-skinned and was really shivery until she had the bright idea to put a
fleece on him. We all slept well after that!

What's more, you're raising money for the homeless houndies as well!

Have a look - http://www.ggbassetrescue.org/shop/category?CategoryID=408

(and by the way, although dogs may not get cold like people they DO get
cold... their fur does not necessarily keep them warm regardless of the
weather - that's the argument some people use for letting their dogs live
outside no matter what the weather is and it's just not true.....you tell
your husband to try sleeping with just one layer of clothing on!!).

Good luck with keeping Sally warm!

Addy

It has been absolutely freezing the past few days in the northeast, and
Sally got her first glimpse of snow on our morning walk today! Having lived
in Ecuador for the first two years of her life, these literally freezing
temps are a big change for her. She's been shivering uncontrollably and her
teeth chatter! It's the cutest thing, but I feel so bad because she's so
chilly.
I put an extra fleece blanky in her bed, and was thisclose to buying a
heated pet bed for her. Am I out of my mind? My husband says that dogs don't
get cold like people do and that she'll be fine.

Does anyone out there use a heated pet bed? Sally doesn't sleep with us in
the big bed, so she's on her own to stay warm.

Emily, and Sally (mm-my ttttt-teeth www-won't stt-stop chchch-chattering)
