Jane and the crew just posted about her OEBE venture with the dog food can. I suppose that should have warned me about small cans and our counter cruiser. But I was just too caught up in Thanksgiving preparations.

Tonight I am making my mom's world famous Manhattan clam chowder. Since until recently I thought I was allergic to shellfish, it's been years since I've eaten it. I carefully chopped all the veggies, mixed them with the cooked bacon, and added the clam and tomato juice and water. Now it just needed to cook a while, so I went in another room. I forgot the clams, sitting invitingly on the kitchen cart.

Well, Jane didn't forget. In a flash, she had the can. The other hounds' barking warned me, but not in time.

So when our guest comes and tastes the soup, I will have to tell her that if she finds it skimpy on clams, the rest are in Jane's tummy.

I might have wrested the can from Jane's lips, but I know Drew would never eat soup that had such clams in it. And after all the yelling, I could hardly tell him Jane hadn't gotten the can.

It will serve me right if Jane has diarrhea all over the house on the holiday. After all, I was the one who left the can on the cart!

Jane is taking Noah's command all too seriously. I can only wonder what Thanksgiving will bring.
