[Dailydrool] Mazzie

Well, Mazzie is back to being a b*tch again.  She was so good on Friday
night when I trimmed her toenails and cleaned her ears.  She usually nips at
me or shakes when I groom her.  She had two really good days of her being
sweet and playing with the other dogs.  Then, yesterday she tried to nip my
11 1/2 year old daughter.  She did not even make contact, but the thing is
that she tried. My daughter is mature acting for her age and both my
children know how to approach a dog, walk, feed, etc. so it was nothing that
my daughter did.  It is like Mazzie has PMS or something because it comes
and goes on her about being cranky (just kidding though).  Last night I had
to have a talk with her because Cooper went to lay down beside her and she
tried to snap at him too.  He is only 6 lbs and she could have seriously
hurt him.  Mazzie is 5 years old, adopted from the humane society 3 years
ago, and she is the one with the fusion in her spine.  I am thinking I am
going to have to have a conversation with the vet about him prescribing
something for her.  He did tests on her and pushed, pulled, etc to her legs
and back area and she did not make any noise or act as if she knew what was
going on. For this reason, he believes that she is numb in the back part of
her body.  I am thinking it could be a pain issue and hopefully not
behavioral.  It seems to me like she struggles to have a BM.  We give
pumpkin for fiber, but if she is numb then maybe that has something to do
with it.  I think she is leaking urine again too.  It seems like every time
the Dad slave is gone, she takes a turn for the worse.  She has had blood
work, x rays, medication for uti's, etc, as well as going the supplement way
from things at the natural food store so in this calendar year we have doing
multiple tests and taken her to the vet numerous times.  She had the seizure
in June this year, exactly one year from the other previous one. The last
vet visit revealed that she is fused from *at least* L1 and down so I guess
I am just trying to talk myself into that it is not as bad as it sounds.
Well, hope everyone is having a good weekend. It seems quiet on the drool
this weekend.
