[Dailydrool] Olivia is Dead

Never in a million years did I think I would be writing this, but Olivia is dead.  I have no more flowery words or phrases to describe losing one of my hounds.  My beautiful baby girl has gone to join Maggie and Oliver and Morgan and Dodger.  Four months old and gone ... I didn't think it was possible to lose your heart so completely in such a short time.
 
I have no idea what happened and frankly can't afford to do a necropsy.  She seemed fine when I came home.  She made a weird little cough and when I called her to me, came bounding over.  I ruffled her ears checked her mouth and gave her kisses.  She trotted off and turned around to lay down and look at me resting her head on her paws.  Then she gave an odd little hiccup, took a deep breath and expelled it with a sigh.  And as I watched her, her ribcage did not re-inflate.  I scooped her up and had her at the vet literally within minutes -- her heart was completely stopped and they have no explanation.
 
I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  I had such high hopes for her and now they have vanished with her last breath.  My heart feels as though it has been ripped from my chest and yet I feel nothing.  I am numb and would just as soon curl up and go join them.  But I shan't.  I still have Abby and Pris, although how much longer I'll have Pris is questionable.  I have nothing left to give or to feel.  I just want to go to sleep and either never wake up or wake up to find the past six months has all been a really bad dream.
