Well, my dearest Basset Lovers, the time has come! On September 23, 2000 we
foster failured our 1st foster with AZ Basset Hound Rescue.  She was
diagnosed with Apocrine Gland Adenocarcinoma August 2007.  Chemo worked
great for 1 year!  They only gave us 6-12 months and we are past that!  She
has had a wonderful last 7 months and the past few weeks she has gone
downhill very fast.  She won't eat any more........sure sign of a  Basset
who doesn't feel good!   : (  I'm syring feeding her canned AD and pain
medications, but we are scheduled with a wonderful in-home Vet who
specializes in Euthanasia......Dr. Christina will be coming Monday 9/8/08 to
help us send Baylie on her next journey to The Bridge.......will you all say
prayers for our family, especially our 3 year old son AJ, who adores her and
my husband.....she's a "Daddy's girl"......and please light her a candle to
help her find her way to the buffet!  If you are the praying kind, please
say lots of prayers for us too!  She will be sooooooo missed.  I thank Dena,
our 1st President who saved her and originally fostered her and AZBHR for
rescuing her as she has given us almost 8 years of sheer delight and
unconditional love.  Monday is going to be a very sad day for the Merola
Family.  : (  I've been crying for 4 days straight!  : (
