Through tears today I read of Doheny, Wyatt and Priscilla Marie who have made their journeys to the Bridge. What a sad day, what a sad few weeks....Three more bright stars grace the heavens tonight, and my candle is lit again...I also need a bit of spare drool for my Leo. Of course, why not, it's Friday and the vet left for the afernoon! I noticed that Leo's fur is wet on his back just below his neck, and also on his throat. The area on his back has a lump beneath the skin and the skin looks irritated and is oozing clear stuff. I put a warm compress on it and also on the area on his throat, which he keeps scratching. He seems a tad lethargic and when he was resting in his bed he started shivering off and on. To relieve the itching I gave him a Benadryl. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow morning and I will no doubt be up all night worried about him. I have fed him nothing different. He had no lump on his back last night. Perhaps he was bitten by something (spider, bee??). I feel I should be doing something but I'm not sure what--should I put peroxide on the spots? Are the hot compresses OK to do? I thought of rushing to the ER vet but my instinct tells me that's not quite necessary. Well, Leo (and I) could use a bit of spare drool, iffen there is any:) Thank you so much!
Mary, Harley, Biggs and Leo
