[Dailydrool] Invisible (electric) fences for Bassets?

A friend has two Bassets, Duke and Daisy.  He installed such a fence.  Duke
would wind himself up by running in a couple of very tight circles, then
burst through the invisible barrier.  He did this whenever he set his mind
to it, and it didn't require much motivation.  Daisy was more timid; so she
stayed in, but before she learned Duke's technique, the invisible fence was
removed.
