Well I hope you keep the Basset cuz it has been proven kids in country on
farms have less diseases than city kids.  Their immune system gets tested.
And I know of a couple with two teenage daughters in Colorado who got a Basset (Chloe) and then a new baby came and they're inseperable.  She is his nanny. If you would like info I can privately send her email after I
ask her of course.
