[Dailydrool] Noah's new game: Climbing for cat food

I had followed the thread about Bassets eating cat food with interest as Hollyberry and Noah show much more interest in their furfrendz food than their own. We have moved our 3 cat food bowls from floor, to foot stool, to buffet, to counter...each move getting higher and higher as the doggie interest grows.  This is inspite of feeding yummy Flint River food and treats....they seem to think good old Purnia Cat chow is gourmet eating.

Cat food cravings have lead my laid-back, polite, patient, innocent-looking, dream of a rescue Basset to show us one of his hidden Basset talents that are contining to emerge as he lives with us longer and longer...one of those is climbing. (Hollyberry doesn't climb as she doesn't think she can jump and I am not teaching her) Noah not only jumps but if the mood hits him he climbs!  It seems DH couldn't find Mr. Noah Baaaawlboah Thursday afternoon. Looked and looked and looked. Imagine his surprise when he found him sitting on top of the garage work bench, nose stuck in the cat food bowl enjoying a little snack. Neither one of us have been able to figure out how he got up there as it is about 4 feet high. Best guess is a path that included a small step stool, a wooden chair, a small table, then a leg up to the work bench. DH liftet him down and we have since dismantled the "bridge" to the bench. Gotta love Basset ingenuity.

Snooters,
Maggie Honnold, Honnold's Hound and Furkitty Farm
Hollyberry (I wunt to lrn to climb too, sho me Brudder Noah? Pleze, Ma won't do it)
Big Brudder Noah Baaaaawlboah (who me? climb? wait a minute...what's in that bowl up there, Mom?)
