[Dailydrool] Temporary Foster in MN, Wi?

A new member posted this on the DD message board.  I'm posting it here in the hope that maybe there's some help out there available.  S/he sounds legitimate, but I really have no idea, so don't shoot the messenger.  I saw it last night and was still thinking about it this morning.  I was just moved by the story and know there are many more people who read the list than visit the bulletin board.  I'm well aware of the great strains on the rescues right now.  Janet 'n Twinkie.

I am in URGENT need of a temporary foster home for my Basset Hounds. My Basset Hounds have been at the Humane Society in Amery, WI since July 5th. I recently had to move to La Crosse, WI and cannot have my dogs here until October 1st, at which time I will have my own apartment. Amery is located about 1 hour and 10 minutes east, northeast from Minneapolis/St. Paul. It is a bit north of Osceola, east of Forest Lake, MN, and 2 ½ hours north of La Crosse. 

They have all their shots, rabies (good until November 2010, just got their bordatella and distemper in the last weeks), don’t ha  ve a flea on them (I use tea tree and lavendar essential oils and other natural home remedies). They are 5 years old male, neutered bassets, very-well behaved, don’t drool, don’t howl unless it is for a treat. 

I am in a very rough financial situation, and am in a treatment facility for alcohol abuse, have had no ability to use phone, internet, network to find resources, and my Bassets are my my world. This is the first time I am able to use the Internet and I have only a few minutes. I can be reached at 612-247-8442 and/or 608-392-9582. 

I am able to provide transportation for them to bring them to the Lacrosse area and in between LaCrosse and Amery… the Humane Society’s employee I have been in contact with daily is volunteering because she knows more about my situation. Please help. I cannot convey my situation in a short story, nor have the time at the moment because of my living situation. I am getting my life back together and it is only for my dogs, which are my kids, my reason, and my sunshine. 

Please help if you can. I am desperate and no one else can help, I don’t know anyone else in this area. Thank you.
