[Dailydrool] Giving dogs dairy

Recently, someone asked if it was ok to give bassets milk, and a number of people wrote that their dogs love milk and have no problem with it.? As part of Fred and Annie's Gotcha Day dinner on Tuesday night, I gave them each a half of a Wendy's Frosty (a vanilla milkshake.)? I've let them lick a little ice cream off my finger before, but that's it.? On Wednesday, Fred had slight diarrhea, but yesterday morning it was worse.? He also threw up once and wouldn't eat anything.? He really seemed to not feel great yesterday morning, but seemed much better last night and today.? His stomach issues aren't completely resolved, but I have him on a boiled chicken and rice diet and, if he's not 100% by Monday, we'll head to the vet.



I don't know if it was the ice cream that did it, but my two do seem to have sensitive stomachs.? I read that some adult dogs do not have enough of the enzyme lactase, and can't break down dairy products.? This can lead to diarrhea.
