I guess we have been lucky over the years because we have never had one with lactose issues. Our first two girls came from the UK and were such special girls. There was a Basset newsletter(the name escapes me) that was full of stories like the drool. I remember the bassets in the stories talk about visiting their friends and checking out the milk bowls. I assumed this was common. Sassy and Daisy drank lots of milk. At least a couple times a day. We were also told to cook for them. That they should eat what we were eating. Daisy thought that was great. Sass was so picky she just didn't like most things.

Sunny and Sherlock also got milk every day. They expected it and would sit and wait until it appeared. Sherlock especially loved his milk. They never got much ice cream but loved what they got. Our very first dog, Rowdy, a mutt of dubious description, loved to go for rides and if we stopped at Dairy Queen, she always got her own cone. She just had the cutest looking face with a serious underbite. She really should have seen a doggie orthodontist.

We don't give these girls milk. I guess we just got out of the habit. They don't need any extra calories either. They do get cheese and yogurt on their food. They love icecream and it doesn't seem to bother them. We are very lucky. Marley the itchy seems to itch because of things in the yard and not things she eats.

The girls are snoring and very comfortable looking. Maggie is on the couch with me. I know Ninja is jealous. The kitty boys are probably destroying something or trying to inflict serious bodily harm to each other upstairs. They sleep all day and are so charming, not, at night.

Snooters and drool to all in need. We are enjoying the cool temperatures. The girls have been having fun sitting on the old fence panels which are still gracing my back yard. They are piled up so they give a little height to the dogs and they love it. Maggie usually goes out and sleeps on them at least once a day. We need to build her a little hill she can be queen of.
