Our dear Sweet Sarah (ATB in November) definitely had The Nose in this household.  If we'd been away from the house, we'd always know that someone had been here while we were gone since Sarah would track-track-track from the front door to the driveway. It was usually UPS or FedEx - we nose-challenged humans could tell by the box left on the front porch. Frank was not particularly interested, and he still doesn't care much even now that he's the Only-Basset. Frank does, however, know when some ANIMAL has been in the yard - he does that hound-baying thing and track-track-tracks all over. We think it's usually the cat from two doors down, or maybe a deer.

Sarah was always mostly afraid of people; maybe she thought of them as ANIMALS ~~
