I want to thank everyone who sent a message for my daughter's friend Eve when her beautiful old bassety boy George went to the bridge.
I made up the scrapbook at the weekend with a few photos I had of George and my girl gave it to Eve at school.
She was really touched that so many people cared enough to send her messages.
She is still struggling with her loss, which is being made worse by the fact her mum has refused to tell her younger brother, six, what has happened, saying instead that George "may not" come back from the vet.
The little boy keeps repeating this to Eve, quite certain in his young mind this means George may well come back.
I don't understand people like this. I know it's hard, but surely losing pets is part of growing up and learning about life and death.

Sorry. Rant over.

Sally, with Rolph and Clara, UK
