A Valentine Poem, By Sherlock P. Blanchard

Roses iz red,

And cypress trees iz brown.

There ain't no better kisser,

Than a big Basset Hound.

If ah could just be with you,

I would hold you at bay,

And lick your sweet face,

On this here Valentine's day.

Oh, you may think I'm teasin,

Or exaggeratin er lyin,

But ah would battle a tiger,

To be your valentine.

Roses iz red,

Except sumtimes they iz pink.

I'll be your valentine,

Forever ah think.

I know you don't mean it,

When you call me knot head.

I know you just love me,

But you scold me instead.

See, you ain't no different,

Than most girls I've seen.

In their hearts they really like me,

But to be coy, they act mean.

They are just tryin to git me,

To notice them ah think.

Like Walker's new girlfrend,

Says "Get away Sherlock! You stink!"

Well ah know girls feel lucky,

When time with them ah spend.

But it's time to bring this here poem,

To a self-assured end.

Yes, roses iz red,

And sumtimes they iz yella.

But ah shore am lucky,

To be your special fella.

Yore frend furrever,

       - Sherlock
