Hello everyone,

Still behind on drools (245) to be exact and that is digest form. I know
that I am still reading emails from before Thanksgiving. Hope everyone is
well and healthy. Just a quick update on the hounds: Mazzie was on the crap
list for a few days. It was discovered that the couch had been urinated on
in between each cushion! If Maggie was to get on the couch it would have
been all white hair. Oliver the doxie pointed it out and Cooper the mini
doxie's bladder could not hold as much urine as we found. What is the worst
part is that we had company when it was discovered. I sat on the couch and
Oliver came up to me and started sniffing. I felt my shirt wet and I told
him to stop licking me only to discover he was not. The couch is almost 10
years old and cannot withstand to have the cushion covers to come off and be
laundered much more. Luckily the company was my mom, my sister and my step
father. Mazzie and her peeing is never going to change. I was so angry that
she once again peed on something and knowing we cannot afford a new couch
right now.

Today, our eldest 2 legger turned 12. That is why everyone was here from out
of town. The two leggers start school break right now so with my mom being
a teacher the kids went back with her which is a few hours away. Maggie, our
9 year old basset, would not lay down all day long. She paced, came up to us
over and over and we could not figure out what was wrong. Water--check,
food----check, both bathroom things attended--check. What could be wrong?
Suddenly it dawned on me that she had been pacing for 7 hours due to the two
leggers leaving and she not knowing where they were. Dad Slave said the kids
are with Nana and ROo. Maggie just stared. I said to Maggie that the kids
are with Hershey (my sister's lab) and she then climbed up on the couch and
has been snoring since then which has been around 2 hours. To think the
o'le girl was missing her kids.

Well, I know I said, short post, but I haven't posted in awhile. We bought a
new BUV around 3 or 4 weeks ago. Did I already post about that? Well the
bassets have not been in it yet, but both of the boys (doxies) have. It is
a Dodge Journey and I am knowing the girls will have to be lifted in. It
will be different without the mini van for them.

It rained here a few days last week. I am not looking forward to mud season
just from those few days, not to mention that the wet weather messes with my
fibromyalgia. I want it to get warm though so we can get the hounds out
walking. It has been a cold winter in NY state. Maggie even froze up last
week in the snow. I had to go out and lift her and carry her in (55 lbs) and
that was not easy for me to do. I got her paws desnowed and was upset for
her as she had only been out about 3 minutes.

Happy Belated Valentines Day to everyone,
Dee, Maggie, Mazzie, Oliver and Cooper
