First off condolences and hugs to all the families that have a hound go to the bridge. It really is too much this time around, it seems every time I get a messages there one that is heading out toward the bridge.

 

The food thread is very interesting to me.  It seems that most feed on average 1 ½ to 2 cups. I feed Speedy Eagle Pack Holistic. 1 cup in the morning and 1 ½  cup in the evening along with a gigantic soon full of tablespoon wet food, also Eagle Pack. Speedy loses weight very easily. According to the package I should be feeding him only 2 cups to a day without wet food.  The vet said his ideal weight is 48 lbs. I think he is still too thin and would rather have him at 51 lbs. When he is 48 lb his rib cage are prominent. I tried the knuckle test and I feel too much bone. When I bring him to the vet at 51 lbs, my vet always pops an eyeball out and lectures me that he needs to drop. But seriously I don't like the look at 48 lbs, he looks like a starving basset at that weight.
