First off, drool to all of those who have lost a beloved fuzzy friend recently. My thoughts are with all of you.

What I have been told in the past regarding medications from on-line/non-vet sources is that the source is questionable.  Supposedly, the manufacturers/pharmaceutical companies of the drugs will only sell to vets and not to on-line/non-vet sources. If the manufacturers are not selling them the drugs, then it leaves it to debate where the drugs are coming from. Just like on the human side, it is not unlikely that someone has decided to make an imitation of the drug to pocket the cash. This being said, I know that some manufacturers/pharm will sell to non-vet sources because they hate the idea of missing out on all that money. The only issue is that you don't know what is real and what isn't.
