I have not had a chance until now, but I wish to thank you for the drool for Pierre.  It is working because he is getting better everyday.  We are moving forward with baby steps, but we are moving forward.  I enjoy your postings on the list a lot. On the theme of dogs acting like cats, ours don't stretch too much and aren't fastidious like cats but we have one who is somewhat catlike.  Ninja purrs.There is no other way to describe the sound she makes when I rub her head, scratch her ears or cuddle with her in general.  She makes a rythmical sound that is very much like a purr.  she will do it for long periods of time, and no, it is not snoring.  Marley is snoring right now and I know the difference.   We are sending drool to those who have lost a friend recently especially the people of Winnie and Doc.  There are no words.  All I can say is You won't ever forget our loves but eventually the memories bring smiles more often than tears.  Those memories are priceless.  Unfortunately, along with love comes loss.   We are also sending drool for all the bassets under the weather.  For Tucker, Pierre, Mable, Rolph, and Rufus we send snooters and loves to make everyone feel better and stay better.  With four girls we have lots and lots of drool.  Maybe we should send some feel better hair too.  There is an overabundance of that everywhere you look.  
 
Miss Shelby is comng out of her shell.  She ignores all the growls and grumps, mostly from Marley.  Marley was an only basset in her former home and has adjusted well to others.  She does not like Shelby a whole lot.  They don't fight because Shelby ignores Marley.  Marley is a little pip.  She wants all the attention all the time.  She and Maggie have formed an alliance where they play and rough house a lot.  They make a lot of noise and sound like someone is being eaten but they really are getting along.  Ninja is miffed that she doesn't get all the attention.  She growls a lot at the others.  Mostly she sits in my lap and growls at anyone who gets too close.
