Today is a sadly joyous day for us.
Winston has gone to his new furever Home!!
We fostered Winston Curchill here since March, when he came in unable  
to climb 3 steps, not hearing from one ear, itching, and full of truly  
hideous, but benign, lumps.
He has been through the whole Basset Makeover project, healthy,  
strong, happy, romping, and feisty again. He celebrated his tenth  
birthday here, with Otis and Nelly happy to
share treats and frosty paws.
We took him over to meet his new family, which includes a his stunt  
double senior sweetie named Chloe, a sweet sassy basset named Darla, a  
corgi and a couple kitties. The family has teenaged kids
and Winston was instantly in heaven. A huge back yard, all fenced and  
full of friends and fun things to sniff, a house on one level, doggy  
beds scattered about.
He hardly looked back at us.
We are very sad and feel the gap of his doggy bed, no longer beside  
our own.
But it is a happy happy day for him. One of the best dogs I have ever  
had the privilege to bellyrub.
