Don't know if this has been mentioned, but FYI:
ARF (Animal Rescue Flights) has teamed with M.O.M.S. Rescue in New
Jersey to help deliver a loud and strong message to the government and
communities of Georgia about the appalling conditons for animals in
Georgia shelters. On August 19, a 200+ caravan of cars and vans will
leave Lindenwold, New Jersey, and head to Atlanta, Georgia. They will
overnight in Charlotte, NC, and head for and arrive in Atlanta, GA, on
Thursday, August 20. At 5 p.m. that day, they will meet incoming ARF
pilots at the Peachtree Dekalb Airport. On Friday, they will go to
shelter in Summerville, GA (south of Chattanooga) and completely empty
it -- taking all animals. It is hoped that supporting crowds will gather
along the highways to cheer the caravan on and it will stop periodically
at rest stops (locations to be announced) where supporters and the press
can meet and greet and wave posters, flags, whatever.
