[Dailydrool] Miss Angela and friends

Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Miss Angela Basset, Droop and Drool Diva of Wichita and Sedgwick County

After a steamy week of near 100 temps and hot, muggy nights, Miss Angela is down almost (wait for it) five pounds. TA DA!!!!  Her appetite is much slackened by the heat and she is just not that into the h/d perscription food.  We missed several days of walks when I had a persistent charlie horse in my calf, but were back out there today.  Miss Angela met her friend Turkish (with his people Megan and Sulieman) in the park and actually romped for maybe five seconds.  It was, unfortunately, over a mile into our walk and she was pooped.  It didn't take long for Angela and Turkish to stretch out in the shade.  Miss Angela was lucky that she has an owner who casts a giant shadow!  

Our friend Jacquie is recovering well from her misadventure breaking up a fight between her dogs.  She has a wire sticking out of her second toe, holding some bones (metatarsals?) together and a rapidly closing wound on the top of her foot.  The big flap of skin and flesh has pinked up as the blood returns to the wounded area (which is great except the nerves are also coming back and it really stings.)   She has a kind of boot on and is now allowed to drive so we don't have to haul her around in the Angelimousine any more.   She is a lurker and very occasional poster here on the drool so she keeps up with all the hounds here.  Her basset Freckles (nee' Tillie) was a stray picked up by suburban police and taken to my vet's office.  Miss Angela was not happy about my decision to foster, so Jacquie took her.  

It was a struggle, but Miss Angela got her picture taken for the Calendar.  She would not pose for me or for the neighbor who volunteered to help with her new head shots.  We took lots of shots, most with Angela's nose six inches from the lens, until Angie got tired and sprawled out on the floor.  Then we got the keepers.
