... I am wondering if any of you out there have any experience with
biodegradable poop bags...<<<

Karen,

Yes, that's all I buy. I've been buying the ones from SitStay for a few
years:

Also, Costco carries biodegradable/compostable bags in the plastic bag
section. Both SitStay bags and the ones at Costco I just toss in the compost
pile, sans the poops. Or I take to the dumps and toss the whole mess there.

I recently bought the "biodegradable" Bags on Board, but they are NOT
biodegradable; their advertising is horribly misleading!

>>>... One dog equals lots of plastic poop bags in the trash....<<<

Heck, that's a great campaign for the benefits of feeding a raw diet ;o)
Poop output from dogs fed a raw diet is minimal. All mine poop no more than
twice a day, and the poops are so small I can just flush them. If they poop
more than twice a day, I know something isn't right, intestinally.

>>>... We are contemplating a pooper disposal, in addition to this...<<<

To save money, don't buy that, you can just flush poops!
When I used to flush the poops, I would pick them up with the bio-bag, and
put the poop into a plastic-lined bucket, then every 2 or 3 days I'd flush
the poops; that was for walks, and poops in the patio.
But I live in the country on 10 acres, so when I clean the dogs' yard, I
just shovel and flip it over the fence.
