Mango is hanging in there but really needs to get the masses taken off. They continue to drain and bother her. I've had to put a belly band on her to cover the one on her hip, to keep her from licking it, and when I checked it today it had been bleeding. I begged and got some amoxicillin and tramadol for her yesterday. My vet is very hesitant to give her any meds because of the GI Bleed last week. I understand that, but she is miserable. He wanted to wait 3 weeks post bleed, and scheduled her surgery for 5/15. I don't feel she should wait another two weeks and called the Emergency and Surgery Vet up the street for an appt with a board certified surgeon on Tues at 9 am. We will have a consult and if all goes well, she will have the surgery that day. We've been aware of her and her problems for a month now - she was held at animal control for 10 days, then my vet was out of town, then she bled...she just needs to be fixed. It will be more expensive to go to the specialist, but probably better for her with more advanced monitoring. She still has quite a bit of money from her firstgiving page and I hope we don't go too far over that. My feeling is that we need try. She is miserable now, though still perky and doesn't let it show. If she decides to head to the Bridge during the surgery or from complications post-op, at least we are doing all we can to fix her and get her better. The longer we wait the more chances of additional complications developing and this could go on forever. I'd rather take the chance now than have her suffer while we wait for the "perfect" time that may never come.

So please keep a good thought for little Miss Mango on Tuesday!
