Hello Droolers...

We improvised a doggy door for our hound Rufus this weekend and today was the test.  The big goof wasn't quite sure of what to make of it based on his reaction to being able to come and go as he pleased.  He was howling up a storm .  He has roam of the fenced and now double pad-locked back yard and the laundry room/kitchen area of the house.  The other dogs are not allowed out while we're not there because they make way too much noise and I'm afraid the neighborhood wouldn't care for the basset hound chorus at all hours.
Rufus is a dog who loves his yard and actually protests coming inside when the weather is warm as it has been the last couple of days.  He spends hours lounging and patrolling.  Today my guess is he was lounging under or near one of the cars because when we got home he was covered in thick, black grease (from one of my hubby's "projects" I'm sure).
My real point is how do I get this goo off of him?  We tried Dawn dish soap thinking if it works for birds in oil spills it should work on the dog......Guess again, it just got spread around a bit.  Are there any suggestions out there in the drool world that would help Rufus out without making him sick?

Thank You ,

Brenda Cruse
