[Dailydrool] Rocky update

We have now officially added Rocky to our family. Our headcount is now 2 humans, 1 beagle, 2 basset hounds, 1 cockatiel...heaven help us all! 
My husband said when he removed the sissy pink collar from Rocky's neck and replaced it with the manly black one, it would be official. I came home from work the other day, and there it was in all it's glory..the black collar!
Rocky had his vet visit yesterday and before the vet could muzzle him, he tried to bite her arm off! She is okay...he didn't make contact with the arm, but he certainly meant to. She said he has definately been abused as he cowers when anyone raises a hand to him. We have had him for 3 or 4 weeks now and he rarely shows teeth anymore at my husband...but he really does NOT enjoy going to the vet. He had a nose to tail exam yesterday....bloodwork, nails clipped, anal glands taken care of...he has a badly infected anal gland for which he is now taking clavimox. He also sneezes a lot which has me concerned about Valley Fever. He also appears to have allergies...the bloodwork should be back in a day or so, then we will know what all we are dealing with. The vet also put his age at 9 or 10...so now we have two seniors in the house.
It's a shame someone had to abuse him, as he is a very loving little guy...he likes to snuggle a lot with me. He jumps into my lap whenever he can and presses his head SOOOO hard into my chest and raises his head to get scritches under his neck...he loves that!
He had 3 shots yesterday and got his supply of heartworm and flea and tick preventative. He also now has his wellness plan in place for the year. 
Yes, Rocky is here to stay...more on his bloodwork when all the results are in. He goes back to the vet for another shot on Thursday and then he is scheduled for a teeth cleaning  and if his anal gland infection isn't cleared up by then, he will have a good cleaning out "down under" while he is asleep.
