[Dailydrool] Rosie has lymphosarcoma

 We learned yesterday officially that Rosie has lymphosarcoma...cancer of the lymph nodes. 

Last week (FRI!) we felt a lump in her throat...that is all the warning that we had!

 

She has it in all of her enlarged lymph nodes (backs of the legs, chest, throat) and the vet says that the xrays showed enlarged nodes inside her too. 

 

We do not have an "estimate" of how long she has left. We are contemplating chemo, and the vet will get back with us with a cost, but it's a 25 week "treatment"...if she doesn't have that long we are debating on if we want to do it or not. 

 

It's hard because Rosie had such a hard life before we got her. She was in the Colorado Springs shelter and CO basset rescue pulled her. She was going to be put down because she was so scared of people. They thought she was a bloodhound/basset mix and we were asked to foster her...yeah, that lasted about 3 days before she was ours! lol

 

She has gotten over her fears and is just the sweetest dog....

 

We took our tank picture last weekend, and I'm guessing that it will most likely be her last :(. 

 

But for now she feels fine and is her old self....I hate the cancer diagnosis, but honestly it's better than the way we lost our Blue...fine one day and we were putting her down the next.
