Pam,

You are so right... what a great little article (actually, quite long
article!).  I loved the bit about the bassets being so keen following the
scent that the hare gets away - or even doubles back through the pack
without being noticed, they're so intent on the scent trail!

I know rescues have been trying for years to weed out adopters--maybe the
test should be that anyone who can read beyond the first paragraph and not
be turned off should be allowed a basset.

But really, if you go beyond that, it's a rather funny article. And they
mention the Doo Dah Parade!
