So what you're saying is, Augie was a good boy and took care of Daddy and
had a little snack, too?!! And they say Basset Hounds are dumb dogs.

Subject: [Dailydrool] Basset stories

I have a basset story----My husband has seizures and abouy 8 years ago---he
had gone to the kitchen to collect himself something to eat. So on the way
back to his chair, he had a seizure. When he woke up all that was left on
the tray he was carrying was the mustard and the sandwich meat paper. But
Augie was right there at his side. He always is. My dogs have had no
training in this area----but Augie will warn my husband by his behavior and
this look he gives him---I can't explain the look--but he knows before it
happens. The weird thing is my other dog, Yankee does the same thing---we
don't know how he picked up on it, but he did. The dogs will stay pressed up
againts him until he comes to. Thank God, the seizure has lessen now---but
the dogs are really "tuned" to us.
