That's great to know that there are that many basset people around this area.  I live in the Northeast (Philadelphia) and met a few bassset people when I was working in that area too.  I was trying to get the basset people I met to be more active in rescue as well.  
Sometimes I focus on all the Drool people that live far away I forgot that there are Drool people close by :)
