First ....

Drool to all of those that have lost their furbabies recently and to those that have sick furbabies...

I am a lurker, but i have a question. My stanley has an infection in the soft palete/eye/jaw area. The vet thinks it might be from a splinter of grass getting up into the soft palete area and then causing the infection. On friday morning he came in from taking care of business with his upper eyebrow area swollen and the third eye lid up. We have him benedryl thinking he got stung by a bee(thank you droolers for that info). We did call the vets after speaking with somebody there, decided to take him in just in case. At the vet he was poked and prodded temp taken (temp was good), the vet felt as though it was this infection, as well as his ears had a slight infection. On friday after the shots, I dont' remember what they were, the swelling went down and you could see his eye. Today the swelling is back up again and the 3rd eyelid up. He is on prednisone and anti-biotics, which we started saturday morning. Thankfully i am on the drool as reading my emails had given me the effects of the pred stan seems very fatigued ... he is eating his regular meals, but does not seem very thirsty at all. Is this something i should be worried about... should i take him back to the vet or at least call them tomorrow...... we did have a bbq yesterday and all 3 of our dogs were outside.... i am not sure if stan got into something... or if his eye got irritated.... i am really concerned that the eye seems swollen again after yesterday it seemed fine... could he be allergic to the anti-biotic or the pred? am i really going off the deep end.

I know the droolers are the best and have so much info and would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much in advance -
