Hello all....used to be an avid reader and poster, now we're lucky to breeze the drools each week. We'd like to offer condolences to those that have lost beloved pups and say Hi to our furends around the world.

We also want to ask for our own personal info about whether or not to repeatedly vaccinate our dogs. A couple years ago I did a paper for school that spoke to the idea that over vaccinating our pups may be contributing to the many cancers being seen. I personally would like to limit my dogs vaccines to protect them. However, I will not put them at risk of catching anything either and DO continue to do rabies shots. Our dogs are indoor dogs, walked around the neighborhood daily.

Freddie will be 5 in May and Ellie in Dec. At what age is it safe to stop optional vaccinations? I had thought 5 would be when we would stop, but now am not certain. As children we are vaccinated and then that's it, other than a couple boosters for certain diseases. Shouldn't my pups have enough immunity to the 5-in one and 7-in one vaccines by now?

Just looking for opinions, not looking to start anything.
Helene, Freddie and Ellie
