[Dailydrool] Ol' Bob ATB

It is never easy to read of one our dear basset furbuds going to the bridge, it is even harder to write.
Ol Bob to the bridge at age 16 1/2, a good long life, a life we know he enjoyed to the fullest.
Ol Bob was a rescue, he came to us at about age 2, he was never a OEBE, I would consider Bob more like a household staple, he was always there, always good, he loved the Dadslave with all his heart. It was like a guy thing. That and the two of them sharing ice cream, Ol Bob's favorite.
Hubby took Bob to Doc this morning for the final trip to the Bridge, he told Bob that we thanked him for all his blessings to us over oh so many years, his ablility to mentor all the other hounds, greet them, tell them goodbye when the time came, protecting us as a family, but most of all being our dear friend. That described Ol Bob to a tee. 
Bob made a peaceful exit, and Hubby said as he got back in the car the first thing that happened when he turned on the key was the song on the radio was Forever Young---yes Bob, you are now Forever Young--

Run Free Bob--But most of all Thank You for all you have given to us. We love you big guy-
