[Dailydrool] Dyson

OK, I'm a few days behind on the Drool, and maybe someone who likes the
Dyson has already posted. But reading all the bad reviews, I thought I'd
give the other side.

I like my Dyson because:

1. I don't need to pay for bags and endlessly fill them in two seconds with
a pound or two of dog hair. With three hounds and one cat here, that happens
in an instant. I simply place the canister that holds the hair completely in
a plastic garbage bag and pull the trigger that allows it to drop into the
bag. I can get at least three loads into a plastic bag with no trouble.
Unless I drop the bag, it's completely neat. So I don't drop the bag.

2. The Dyson gets up more hair than any other vacuum I have had. My parents
had an Oreck years ago. Unless they have improved drastically, they are not
as good. Besides, you need two vacuums if you have an Oreck, because there
is no hose to an Oreck, if the commercials I have seen are accurate. I use
the Dyson hose to do the stairs, clean the couch of fur, and extend into
corners and under furniture. I don't care to move furniture every time I
clean, just because a stray clump of hair goes under something.

3. The Animal attachment does a fairly good job of taking fur off the couch
(my hounds' favorite bed). It may not be perfect, but I have yet to find
anything easier and better. (We can start another discussion on this topic,
if someone wants to.)

4. Since I hate cleaning, I do less of it with a Dyson. My previous vacuum,
a Eureka, never really picked up the fur from the carpet. As long as we had
carpets, the Dyson did a much superior job.

I will grant you that the Dyson is not the lightest vacuum in the world, but
if you have no health issues, you may never notice it. Even with my heart
limitation, I can move it around without much trouble.

I'm not saying a Dyson is a perfect choice for everyone, and I know others
like the brands I'm not keen on, but this is what I like best about my
Dyson.
