[Dailydrool] Baloo/Buckley Food Fight

Bus, the Addison's hound came to my house in December. He had been on 10mg of Prednisone per day for the Addisons and weighs 103. His entire focus was FOOD. His pred is now down to 2.5 mg per day, but he still creates problems at dinner time. I feed dogs in separate rooms.

It is pretty funny--I fix the food bowls and say "Rooms" and Bus and Dobi both head for their assigned room. Food goes in, door is shut--

Chester and Bosley (my dogs for some time-Dobi came in October) get to "free eat" and they don't bother
each other. The minute I let Bus out of his room, he makes the rounds to see if there is any food left anywhere. Chester sometimes doesn't eat in the morning, so his dish is picked up BEFORE Bus is released.

They also do not get treats unless they are separated or I am right there to supervise, depending on the
kind of treat.

It may seem kind of harsh at first to separate them, (it did to me) but my guys got used to it pretty fast. If Bosley happens to be in my office (Bus's "room") at feeding time, Bus looks totally confused and doesn't know where to go or what to do with himself. Since Bosley is quite the little jerk, Bus then gets to eat in my
bedroom.
